The changes coming to Manchester United could mean we are in for a squad overhaul in the summer, with club captain Bruno Fernandes among the potential departures at Old Trafford.

Fernandes has been one of the few transfer success stories at United in recent years and fans will be disappointed to hear his days at the club may be numbered.

The Portuguese Magnificio has scored 79 goals in 230 games for United since joining in a £67 million move from Sporting Lisbon in 2020. He was made club captain last summer and hasn’t enjoyed his best season to date.

That said, Fernandes’ form was beginning to improve before he sustained his latest injury. We missed him in the back-to-back defeats against Crystal Palace and Arsenal in the Premier League.

It have been reports suggesting a number of United players have serious doubts over Fernandes’ future at the club.

5 potential clubs for Bruno Fernandes

Bayern Munich

The Independent claim that Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are exploring a deal for Fernandes. The German outfit reportedly believes they can get the midfielder due to increasing frustration at United.

It has been suggested that the United hierarchy would be willing to cash in on Fernandes since they need to sell players to meet profit and sustainability rule requirements.

Furthermore, Bayern look set to keep Thomas Tuchel as manager, and he pushed hard to sign Fernandes for PSG in the past.

Saudi Arabia

Saudi Pro League duo Al Hilal and Al Ittihad are also reportedly interested in Fernandes, as per The Telegraph, although I could not see him leaving United for Saudi, aged 29.

Fernandes will likely push to join one of Europe’s top clubs should he leave Old Trafford. A club competing in the Champions League rather than the Middle East.

Barcelona

Spanish newspaper Nacional (H/t 90min) previously suggested Fernandes could be used in an exchange deal involving Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong.

The same report claims Fernandes would be willing to take a pay cut to join Barcelona.

Inter Milan

While stating that Fernandes is ‘receptive to leaving’ United in the summer transfer window, the Manchester Evening News claims Inter Milan are interested in Fernandes.

It is suggested that a hefty offer could tempt United to cash in on their captain.

PSG

TEAMtalk claims three European giants will chase Fernandes this summer. Two are already mentioned on this list, while PSG are also believed to be keeping tabs on the United star’s situation.

PSG may come forward with an offer as part of their post-Kylian Mbappe plans.
