Daichi Kamada failed to find his footing under Maurizio Sarri, but could things change with Igor Tudor at the helm of Lazio?

The 27-year-old Japanese midfielder was highly rated when he arrived in the Italian capital on a free transfer last summer, having impressed during his time with Eintracht Frankfurt. After a positive start, he quickly slipped out of view and struggled for consistent minutes.

Having signed a one-year deal with an option for a further two last summer, Kamada has seemingly decided not to activate his option, keen to start a new adventure in the summer after a difficult year with Lazio. This term, he’s seen 1124 minutes of action across 28 matches.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Tudor has decided to scrap all hierarchies following his arrival at Lazio, deciding which players to trust based on what he sees over the coming weeks.

In recent days, the Croatian coach has tried a 3-4-2-1 formation which could suit Kamada better, so there is some optimism that he could turn things around before it’s too late in the capital.
