Chelsea player who only played 24 minutes earns embarrassing stat against Arsenal

One Chelsea player who came on as a late sub for Chelsea in their defeat to Arsenal last night and only played 24 minutes, has earned an embarrassing stat.

It was just a horrific evening for Chelsea last night all over, but this just about sums up what the club are facing right now and the issues they have.

Let’s be honest, it literally is Cole Palmer FC right now. Without him, Chelsea are very weak. And they were without him last night as he missed the game through illness. Every single Chelsea fan feared the worst when they saw this, and they very much got the worst with Mike Arteta’s side smashing them 5-0 at The Emirates.

Chelsea stay 9th in the Premier League with just 6 games remaining and now European qualification has been taken out of their own hands, because last night was their game in hand.

Anyway, back to the stat in question here, because we could be talking all day about how overall last night, Chelsea were just terrible.

But without Palmer, they lack quality in attack. Noni Madueke and Mykhailo Mudryk didn’t really step up, and Raheem Sterling came on as a late sub to try and effect things, but to no avail.

According to Mozo Football, in his 24 minutes played, Sterling was dispossessed more times (4) than any player for either Arsenal or Chelsea. WOW.

Sterling has had a poor season really other than a fairly bright stat, and as a result he has lost his regular starting place under Pochettino. He is actually one of the many players in this current squad that I wouldn’t be upset if he was sold at the end of this season. Unfortunately though, he is on high wages and I think Chelsea would lack serious suitors if they did try to sell him.
