Napoli have reopened talks with Antonio Conte after he lowered his wage demands and Milan are also ready to meet the former Chelsea coach again, reports detail.

The 54-year-old Italian coach is still out of work following his acrimonious exit from Tottenham in March of last year, taking a break from football to spend time with his family in Turin following a difficult spell in North London.

Conte was once the favourite to take on the Napoli job, but things fell quiet over the last few months, with other candidates like Gian Piero Gasperini and Vincenzo Italiano taking over in the race. He has also been floated as a possible replacement for Stefano Pioli at Milan.

Conte lowers demands

Il Mattino and page 16 of today’s Corriere dello Sport detail how Conte has started to lower his contract demands ahead of the summer, willing to accept a deal worth around €4-5m net per season plus add-ons and image rights.

His entourage met with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis last week and further talks are expected, whilst his agents also prepare to discuss terms with Milan.
