Paris Saint-Germain loanee Xavi Simons draws attention from other top European clubs as he excels with RB Leipzig. One of the clubs rumored to be in on the Dutchman is Arsenal.

Arsenal, Bayern Munich, FC Barcelona, and Inter Milan are clubs linked to Simons. Nonetheless, with so much ongoing information, transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano clarified the situation, particularly regarding Arsenal.

However, Romano debunked rumors that the Gunners are vying for the 20-year-old. Still, Romano does state that there was interest last year, but nothing new has materialized from the Premier League side.

“Arsenal were following Xavi Simons last summer but there’s absolutely nothing new now,” Romano wrote on CaughtOffside. “PSG are very happy with his loan in Leipzig, and decision time will be in the summer – nothing is being decided in January for Xavi Simons.”

Romano’s remarks about when a decision will come regarding Simons’ future also debunk a report from Sky Germany that Simons wants to stay at RB Leipzig for another season. As a result, negotiations will have to occur between Leipzig and PSG.

Simons has scored seven goals and registered nine assists in 27 appearances in all competitions for RB Leipzig this season.
