Everton defender James Tarkowski admitted frustration after their 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace on Monday night.

On a night when Roy Hodgson was replaced by Oliver Glasner as Palace manager, the visitors took the lead through Jordan Ayew before Everton fought back for the draw via Amadou Onana.

Tarkowski said: "After being 1-0 down we would have taken it, set pieces were important but I would have liked to score more from them. Disappointed with it, but we will take the point.

"They went with three at the back, when we got the ball wide and the delivery wasn't on point they outnumbered us a bit."

He added: "We work on it a fair bit and it is always an opportunity when we get in the box, we have lads that get themselves in good areas and we just attack it.

"I told Amadou Onana I was going to get in the way of a man to make more space so he could get his head on it."
