Serie A will get up and running following the international break with two mouthwatering clashes – Juventus vs Lazio and Milan vs Inter – on September 16. The Milan derby is expected to draw attention from far and beyond, and ex-Rossoneri icon Fabio Capello has named the Nerazzurri as clear favorites for the title this early in the season.

Capello spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) and gave his say ahead of the upcoming showdown at San Siro.

“I say Inter. Because despite changing so much, they started again with the same spirit with which they finished last season, where they reached the Champions League final. Credit to Inzaghi and the remaining leaders: starting with Lautaro Martinez, who is an extraordinary striker.”

“It is a team that shows desire, determination, everyone helps each other and compared to last year it has more quality in its alternatives and substitutions: I am thinking of Davide Frattesi, Juan Cuadrado, Carlos Augusto. And then in the middle of the pitch he has the best playmaker in Serie A: Calhanoglu is stronger than Brozovic, he has quality, vision and moves the ball quickly.”

Capello then shed light on his former team, along with the other potential title contenders.

“Milan, they have changed a lot but they are a good team that we saw in the first outings. Napoli must find themselves while Juventus is also in the running: they are without cups but it depends on Paul Pogba‘s recovery.”

Inter and Milan are the only two teams to have a 100% win record after a fantastic start to the season. The Nerazzurri have not conceded a single goal so far, while both sides have scored eight after the first three games.
