Gary Lineker tells Victor Osimhen to reject Man United and join Premier League rivals
IPA

If Gary Lineker were in Victor Osimhen’s shoes, he has declared his preference for joining either Arsenal, Chelsea, or Manchester United, three Premier League teams interested in signing the Napoli striker.

One of the world’s finest number 9s, Osimhen is a wanted man. It is believed that he’ll leave the Italian champions in the summer for a move away. Chelsea, Man United and Arsenal have all been mooted as possible destinations for him.

The Nigerian has been fantastic for Napoli throughout the years. He was unquestionably the primary contributor to his team’s Serie A win with 31 goals in the previous campaign.

Napoli and Osimhen have inked a new contract recently. Though it’s still expected that he would leave Italy in the summer, Chelsea, Man United, and Arsenal would all be overjoyed to sign him.

Micah Richards asked Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer, on the Rest is Football podcast, who they would sign if they were in Osimhen’s position.

Lineker replied: “I think I’d look at it and I’d go, at the moment, Arsenal.

“Obviously, we’re talking about everyone offers the same thing, that’s what you want, blah blah blah in your contract. I mean, to be honest, they earn so much now that you can just choose where you want to go.

“I would say, Arsenal are probably a centre-forward away from winning things. Chelsea are a centre-forward away from becoming competitive again. Manchester United are a centre-forward away from improving, but they’ve still got a long way to go.

“If I were him, you want to go somewhere where you think you’re going to win things.”

Shearer concurred with Lineker’s remarks.
