Ghana coach Hughton explains benching Arsenal midfielder Partey

Arsenal star Thomas Partey sat out a game for Ghana during their African Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.

Ghana had to work hard and come from behind to draw against Angola.

Partey did not play any part in the contest, as he is recovering from a slight injury.

Black Stars boss Chris Hughton stated: "Thomas has some small issues.

We felt it was too big of a risk to start him."

Arsenal fans will be hoping Partey is ready to go when the Premier League resumes over the weekend.
