On the eve of the game between AC Milan and Genoa, the latter’s manager Alberto Gilardino spoke to the media at his press conference. In addition to praising the Rossoneri, he confirmed that a star could miss the game.

Milan will be without the support of the Curva Sud tomorrow due to an ongoing protest. The fans will attend the game but there will be no cheering, flags or banners. A special atmosphere awaits, in other words, and it’s one that Genoa will look to take advantage of.

Speaking at his pre-match presser, as cited by MilanNews, Gilardino praised Milan and also confirmed that the Rossoblu star Albert Gudmundsson could miss the game. The forward has been struggling with a fever and might not make it.

“For Albert, we will make some assessments today and we hope to recover him. We will face a strong and talented team, which is well-coached by Stefano Pioli. A team that is second in the standings with a points average similar to when they won the Scudetto.

“A team of great quality, talented and strong on set-pieces We know what team we have to face but we want to play a great match. Milan can put anyone in difficulty at any time,” he stated.

Milan will be without Mike Maignan and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, both injured, and this means that Samuel Chukwueze and Christian Pulisic will start up front. Stefano Pioli confirmed this during his press conference earlier today.
