Olivier Giroud has officially announced his plans to leave Milan at the end of this season, bringing an end to a memorable three-year spell at the club.

The French veteran joined the Rossoneri from Chelsea back in the summer of 2021 in a deal worth around €4.8m, quickly proving a smart signing for the club. He played an important role in their Scudetto success in his first season at the club.

Giroud’s contract expires with Milan at the end of this season, and he’s been heavily linked with a move to the MLS in the summer, with his likely destination being Los Angeles FC.

Giroud decision

In a video posted on the Milan Twitter page, Giroud publicly confirmed his decision to leave the club in the summer, ready for a new adventure in the twilight of his career.

During his three years at the club, the 37-year-old Frenchman scored 48 goals and provided 20 assists in 130 appearances across all competitions.
