‘He will be ready’: Kulusevski backs ‘unbelievable’ Tottenham player to step up and deliver

Tottenham Hotspur recently crashed to a heavy defeat against Chelsea in the Premier League and players like Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie were sent off during the game.

Tottenham are now left with a lack of options at the back and it will be interesting to see if summer signing Ashley Phillips is given an opportunity to showcase his qualities in the Premier League in the coming weeks.

Tottenham winger Dejan Kulusevski certainly believes that the 18-year-old is ready to step up and deliver for the side if he is called upon. The Swedish international winger added that every player is unbelievable in training and the 18-year-old certainly has a talent to perform for Tottenham.

Kulusevski said to Football London: “Yeah probably he is ready.

“It is the coach that decides that, but I think every player is unbelievable in the training.

“Everybody is ready, everybody wants to play and it is so high level the training. So, if he will be called, he will be ready.”

Phillips is highly rated in England and he could prove to be a solid, long-term investment for Tottenham. The defender will be raring to prove himself in the Premier League if he is given an opportunity in the upcoming matches.

Another summer signing Micky Van de Ven has been outstanding since joining his new club, and Phillips will want to follow in his footsteps. It remains to be seen whether Ange Postecoglou is ready to hand the 18-year-old a start in the league alongside Van de Ven during Romero’s absence.

Phillips is a prodigious talent and Premier League experience in the coming weeks could do wonders as far as his development is concerned.
