Herrera: Rift between Messi and Mbappe at PSG...?

Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera says Lionel Messi was a great teammate at PSG.

Herrera also rubbished claims of tension between Messi and Kylian Mbappe.

He told TyC Sports: "If you have Leo, everyone else is one step behind. Leo doesn't need to speak out to be respected - how am I going to raise my voice if Leo doesn't?

"It's a lie that there was a rift with Mbapp. I don't understand why, in order to praise one, you have to kill the other."

The Basque added on Messi: "He is a born winner, he never took an exercise as a joke. He always tried to be the best, he takes things seriously. Things don't happen by chance, apart from the talent he has and being touched by the wand. Without the character he has, you can't win seven Ballon d'Or."
