Alessandro Moggi, the agent of Lazio captain Ciro Immobile, has confirmed that his client’s desire is to remain in Rome with the Biancocelesti, despite plenty of reports linking him with a move away from the Stadio Olimpico at the end of the 2023-24 season.

On Tuesday afternoon, some outlets in Italy suggested that Immobile could potentially be sent to Napoli as part of an exchange deal for Partenopei forward Giovanni Simeone.

Moggi has admitted that things can change and that a move for Immobile this summer isn’t necessarily out of the question, however he did confirm that the player’s desire is to stay on with Lazio for as long as possible.

“Ciro is part of Lazio history, he’s the captain,” Moggi said in an interview with Sport Mediaset on Tuesday evening, reported via TMW.

Moggi continued: “He’s doing well in Rome but it’s clear that lots of different situations could crop up before, and after, the end of the season.

“Immobile’s will, as he’s shown many times over the years, is to stay in Rome wearing the Lazio shirt. Some situations could still arise in the summer transfer market.”

Immobile has been linked with a move away from Lazio for some time, and it was reported last summer that several clubs in the Saudi Pro League were keen to snap up the 57-time Italy international.

The player himself admitted that there had been interest from the Middle East last summer, but also said that it was his decision to stay on with Lazio.
