According to reports, Nottingham Forest made an offer to Lorenzo Insigne, but the Italy international would prefer to remain at Toronto FC.

The 32-year-old joined the MLS club as a free agent in the summer of 2022 and has contributed 11 goals and six assists in 33 competitive games.

Tuttomercatoweb maintain that Nottingham Forest made a proposal to Toronto FC, hoping to take Insigne on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season that could become an obligation if certain conditions are met.

However, the same source also insists that the striker himself is not interested in the Premier League side and would prefer to remain in Canada if there is no chance of a return to Italy.

Insigne is under contract with Toronto FC until June 2026.

A product of the Napoli youth academy, he went on to become captain of his beloved hometown club.

He also amassed 10 goals in 54 senior caps for Italy, but somewhat fell off the radar following the move to Toronto.
