Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio says Marcus Thuram was their most important signing this season.

Ausilio was reflecting on their work after winning the Scudetto after last night's victory against AC Milan.

He told Sky Italia: "Without offending others, I wanted to mention Thuram. I could talk about (Davide) Frattesi or Carlos Augusto but we knew them. Marcus's was born two years ago, it lasted a long time.

"We would have taken him together with (Edin) Dzeko but he got hurt. He chose us because he maintained a relationship with us, we convinced him that he could become a great striker and he can improve further."

Asked how he chose their signings, Ausilio also said: "We need harmony in the work, then scouting is very important, both video but above all live. We travel around Europe and the rest of the world, sometimes you don't reach the first objective but we have been able to find important solutions by spending the right amount.

"I put the algorithms lastly, an algorithm should never prevail over a footballer's vision."
