Inter Milan are ready to reinvest the fee in the sale of Marcelo Brozovic to Al-Nassr in a move for Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper La Repubblica, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri will put the €18 million fee that they bring in for Brozovic towards signing Frattesi as his replacement in midfield.

The past week or so has seen an unpredictable, whirlwind negotiation between Inter and Al-Nassr for Brozovic.

However, things look to have finally concluded after a few unpredictable twists. Inter have reportedly accepted a fee of around €18 million for the Croat, according to La Repubblica.

Only a few months ago Brozovic being sold would’ve seemed unthinkable. However, the midfielder’s situation at Inter has changed.

The Croat has missed long spells with injuries in the season just gone. Whilst he was out, Hakan Calhanoglu has emerged as a starting-quality option in his position.

Moreover, a rift has reportedly formed between Brozovic and Inter. Management of the midfielder’s injuries are reportedly central to the reason for this.

As such, Inter have decided that the best course of action is to cash in on the 30-year-old, who had only signed a new contact with the club last spring.

Inter Milan To Put Marcelo Brozovic Fee Towards Davide Frattesi

Inter’s decision to sell Brozovic has led to a midfield re-think.

With Calhanoglu ready to be the main option playing the regista position next season and Kristjan Asllani as his deputy, Inter will move for a slightly different profile of player to take the place of Brozovic in the squad.

Sassuolo and Italy star Frattesi is that player who Inter have in mind.

The 23-year-old ha really burst onto the scene over the past couple of seasons. Both for his club and for the Azzurri, Frattesi has played as an all-action midfielder or mezzala.

Inter want to sign the Neroverdi star to replace Brozovic.

And, according to La Repubblica, they will do so using the money that they brought in from Brozovic’s sale to cover part of the fee to Sassuolo.
