Inter Milan are reportedly ready to deny Lautaro Martinez the chance to take part in the summer Olympic games.

At the end of the club campaign, the 26-year-old will head to the United States to represent Argentina in the Copa America.

The tournament starts on June 20th and ends on July 14th.

On the other hand, the Olympic football tournament kicks off on July 24th before wrapping up on August 10th.

So according to La Gazzetta dello Sport via FcInter1908, the Nerazzurri won’t allow their captain to participate in Paris 2024.

This could come as a blow for the Inter captain who has recently expressed his desire to join the Albiceleste in the Olympics.

As the source explains, the Italian giants wouldn’t want their main talisman to exhaust himself by featuring in back-to-back summer tournaments.

This prospect would also see Lautaro playing non-stop for 14 months. After all, Inter will take part in the FIFA Club World Cup between June and July 2025.

So in order to preserve their skipper’s well-being, Inter would prevent him from joining Argentina in the Olympic Games this summer in case of a call-up.
