The Inter squad and head coach Simone Inzaghi have made a pact in view of Monday’s Derby della Madonnina clash against AC Milan, a game in which they can win the title.

The results over the weekend left the equation very simple: Inter will secure their historic 20th Scudetto in the upcoming clash with their city rivals if they beat them in Monday night’s game.

That will in turn earn them the chance to wear a second star on their shirts before the Rossoneri, who would remain stuck on 19 after their last Serie A triumph during the 2021-22 season.

Inter are without a doubt the deserved champions elect having lost just once in their 32 league matches, with the best defensive record and goal scoring record in the entire division.

Today’s La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Football Italia) claims that the focus on Inzaghi’s squad and the staff is solely on the match against Milan and winning the title at the first possible opportunity, rather than anything directly related to the Rossoneri.

As such, the Nerazzurri players have formed a ‘pact in the dressing room’ to avoid provoking Milan and to instead celebrate their Scudetto with respect, if they get it on Monday.

The police will also be hoping to avoid any provocations between the fans too, which is why efforts have been stepped up to ensure the fixture comes and goes without incident, even if there is a non-violence pact between the Ultras group.
