‘it looks like…’: David Ornstein makes claim regarding Postecoglou’s Tottenham future

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has been linked with a move away from the club in recent months.

The Australian has done an impressive job since taking over at the North London club and journalist David Ornstein believes that he will stay at Tottenham for a long time.

Ornstein has revealed during a Q and A session with the Athletic that the Tottenham hierarchy is pleased with the manager’s contributions so far and they are unlikely to sanction his departure any time soon.

“I imagine those in positions of power at Tottenham are pleased with his work and it is no coincidence that he is being linked to some of the vacancies elsewhere – because he is regarded in the industry as an impressive guy who continues to build an impressive career, with a lot of the qualities that clubs are looking for in their prospective hires.

“That’s not to suggest he could be leaving – it looks like Postecoglou is there to stay and Spurs would hope for the long-term.”

Despite links with other clubs, the 58-year-old is focused on the task at hand and he is unlikely to push for an exit either. Tottenham are currently pushing for Champions League qualification and they will look to end their wait for a trophy soon.

They have put together an exciting squad. They have brought in talented players this season and they will look to improve further during the summer transfer window. Tottenham will have to improve the quality and depth of their squad in order to compete with elite clubs.

Postecoglou is building a formidable team

Postecoglou is putting together an exciting project at the London club and it wouldn’t be a surprise if Tottenham managed to compete for trophies next year. If they manage to finish in the top four, they will be an attractive destination for new signings in the summer.

Tottenham have impressed with their free-flowing attacking football under the Australian this season and the fans will hope that their team can add substance with style going forward and win major trophies.
