Alejandro Garnacho has enjoyed a whirlwind six months, having made his first-team debut earlier this year before scoring twice in the FA Youth Cup final.

His double against Nottingham Forest ensured that United won the tournament for the first time in 11 years, sparking fanfare over The Class of 22′. Prior to that, he had been called up to the senior Argentina squad in March.

Now, former Liverpool and Barcelona midfielder Javier Mascherano has become the latest to sing Garnacho’s praises, insisting that he can still develop if the environment is right.

“Alejandro is a great player, with a lot of potential to continue growing. It is clear that by playing in the club he plays for, and above all the importance his club gives him for the future, will depend on him for what he is capable of,” Mascherano told Argentinian publication Olé, via The Peoples Person.
