Speculation continues that midfielder Mason Mount could leave Chelsea this summer after failing as yet to agree to a contract extension.

The 24-year-old's current deal comes to an end in 2024 and he has been reported as not being happy with the offer made to him by the Blues hierarchy to renew his deal.

That has led to links away from Stamford Bridge with a move to Liverpool seeming very much possible as Jurgen Klopp searches for midfield reinforcements.

After Julian Nagelsman was sacked by Bayern Munich and replaced by Thomas Tuchel, there have been suggestions that the England international could be playing his football in the Bundesliga next season.

That appears to have been shut down however by journalist Christian Falk who claims that Mount has not been a topic of discussion between his former manager at Chelsea and Bayern.

The Head of Football at Bild Sport suggests that the current midfield options at the Allianz that include the likes of Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka is 'more than adequate' and there will be no incomings unless players are sold.

The Transfer Room Verdict

A move for Mount to Liverpool could suit all parties with the Reds' midfield in need of a refresh and the player needing to kick-start his career. after struggling for game time under Graham Potter.
