After an impressive record in December and January, Luka Jovic has struggled to find the back of the net in the last few outings for AC Milan. Nevertheless, with eight goals to his name, the Serbian is hopeful about a contract renewal.

The 26-year-old joined Milan on deadline day in the summer, terminating his contract with Fiorentina, and it was far from a brilliant start for him. However, as his physical condition improved, he started to find the back of the net and now has an average of a goal every 122 minutes.

According to today’s edition of Corriere dello Sport, as cited by MilanNews, Jovic is eager to convince Milan before the end of the season. His agents have scheduled a meeting with the Rossoneri in the next few days, hoping to alter some details in the current deal.

Milan have the option to renew the striker’s contract year by year, but his entourage would prefer to discuss a new deal with a new salary. And in that scenario, the contract length could also change. Everything will depend on the Rossoneri’s strategy for the position, with Olivier Giroud now destined to leave.

There’s also the hypothesis of renewing Jovic and then selling him immediately, registering a full capital gain as he arrived for free from Fiorentina.
