Inter aren’t the only top Serie A side interested in Albert Gudmundsson, as Juventus are plotting to make a run at the inventive playmaker exploiting a pair of factors that could work in their favor. They touched base with his entourage in recent days, TuttoSport informs (via Goal).

The Bianconeri have completed a lot of deals with Genoa in the last few years. They signed Andrea Cambiaso and Nicolò Rovella from the Rossoblù. Radu Dragusin and Koni De Winter went the opposite route.

Inter have been working on signing Gudmundsson for a while, but there’s no agreement at this stage, which leaves a doorway for Juventus and other suitors. Tottenham are also keen.

Genoa are open to including a youngster in the package. The Old Lady has several sound candidates. They like Enzo Barrenechea in particular. He’s having a respectable campaign at Frosinone and is fairly similar to Milan Badelj and Kevin Strootman, who are up there in age and whose contracts are short-term. They could also target Tiago Djalò for a loan.

The attacker has returned to form, scoring four goals in the last five matches.

Our Take on Juventus, Inter, and Gudmundsson

His versatility — he even starred as an offensive box-to-box in a pinch — makes him an ideal target for any side, especially if Genoa accept favorable formulas and doesn’t request €30M or more on the nail. Still, it’s not sure the Bianconeri will acquire a pricey attacker unless they part ways with one between Federico Chiesa and Matias Soulé.
