Igor Tudor was given the perfect start at Lazio thanks to Adam Marusic, who found a late winner against Juventus to secure all three points for the hosts.

Tudor officially put pen to paper on his contract with the Biancocelesti last month, following the unexpected resignation of Maurizio Sarri, and had around two weeks to prepare before his first match in charge.

Juventus have been in a run of dire form lately, picking up just seven points from their eight prior league matches ahead of their visit to the Stadio Olimpico. Pressure has continued to mount on Massimiliano Allegri as fans call for a change in the summer.

The Old Lady got off to a decent start in Rome and had an early chance through Gleison Bremer, but Lazio quickly started to take control of proceedings in front of their home fans, having a number of chances through Valentin Castellanos.

In the second half, Lazio continued to look the better of the two sides but struggled to find a way through Juventus’ defence, only taking pot shots at Wojciech Szczesny across the second half.

Just as the Biancocelesti looked on track to be held by a frustrating 0-0 draw by the Bianconeri, everything turned around in extra time.

In the 93rd minute, a well-floated ball by Matteo Guendouzi was met by a leaping Adam Marusic, who managed to connect with the cross and head it into the back of the net, securing a late winner for the home side.

Tudor and his Lazio side now have to start gearing up for a rematch against the Old Lady in the first leg of the Coppa Italia semi-finals on Tuesday evening.
