Laudrup: Barcelona must be careful with Yamal and avoid Fati mistakes

Former Barcelona star Michael Laudrup says expectations should be ease for Lamine Yamal.

The 16 year-old is already a major player for Barca and Spain after bursting onto the scene midway through last season.

But Laudrup argued: "He is very young and has incredible individual qualities. He also doesn't let himself be unsettled when he plays at this level.

"He has many qualities, is well integrated with the rest of the team and has extraordinary one-on-one numbers. But, having said that, we must be careful in proclaiming him one of the best in the world because he is only 16 years old; we had the example of Ansu Fati, who unfortunately got injured and never reached his level again.

"These young players must be allowed to mature slowly."
