Atalanta travelled to Rome in the pick of this afternoon’s Serie A matches. 6 points separated the sides before kick-off. Lazio had only two wins under their belt in what is proving to be a tough start for the club. Atalanta on the other hand were unbeaten in their last five fixtures and hadn’t lost to Lazio in Rome since 2017. The details of this five-goal game can be found here

Matias Vecino produced a lovely goal to give Lazio their third league win of the season after La Dea fought back from two goals down. Below is how the Biancocelesti rated on a beautiful Autumn day in Rome.

Ivan Provedel – 6

Good save on De Keteleare early in second half. Assured under long balls and with his feet. Didn’t move for Atalanta’s equalizer. Swept his boot through a ball at the end to cut out a chance.

Adam Marusic – 5.5

Decisive at both ends. Marusic Lost out to Sead  Kolasinac for his goal but his well-timed cross was the making of the winning goal. Intelligently tried to use Taty Castellanos’s height.

Alessio Romagnoli – 5

Ederson’s goal really had to be dealt with better. simple lack of talking to his team-mates. Kept Davide Zappacosta onside for a chance but Nicolo Rovella gave him a dig- out. Not his best showing.

Nicolo Casale – 5.5

Threat from corners made obvious at the first opportunity when he flicks on to put De Keteleare in a tricky position. Nearly scores again but Musso denies him. The better of the two center halfs defensively. Helped keep the four strikers he faced throughout quiet enough.

Elseid Hysaj – 5

Beaten by Ademola Lookman and had to be helped by Rovella. Ball went straight over his head in the last few allowing a cross to be delivered to Luis Muriel. Disappointing.

Matteo Guendouzi – 6

Pressed very high and left most of the work tracking back to Rovella. His high positions up field meant he got on the ball often and hit the crossbar from long range. Up to the quick tempo.

Luis Alberto – 6.5

As usual he produced the passes needed to create  from the center and two dangerous corners in the first half, one of which led to the goal. Went off for Vecino before the hour. Perhaps had a muscle problem.

Nicolo Rovella – 6.5

Rovella tracked back to help out his defence, especially Hysaj. A good shift as a kind of midfield sweeper. Best performance so far.

Felipe Anderson – 7

Provided the assist for Castellanos. Perfect pace as it was harder then it looked to get it by the defender. In acres of space so was more then happy to exploit it. Causing trouble with every touch.

Taty Castellanos –  7.5

Thrilled with his first goal for the club. Turned up were he should be to score. Provided an alternative to Immobile well, to the delight of Laziali. Turned provider for the winner using his height to give Vecino the assist.

Mattia Zaccagni – 6.5

The second goal came from his presence of mind to switch the play to Anderson. Same as Anderson was provided too much space and used it wisely, cutting inside and making sure moves reached their targets.

Substitutes:

Matias Vecino: 7.5

One of Sarri’s most trusted players who always seems to be ready to score the goals that matter most. Well able to understand all aspects of his role. Effective off the bench once again. Produced a lovely goal to give Lazio their third league win of the season

Pedro – 6

Effective as a creative outlet once Alberto and Zaccagni left the field. Had the ball in the net but was offside.

Daichi Kamada – 6

Got a header on target into Musso’s arms and should’ve done better when presented with a 4 v  4 situation. Pressed high like Guendouzi did with relative success.

Gustav Isaksen – N/A

Danilo Cataldi – N/A
