Lazio president Claudio Lotito has ruled out granting Luis Alberto a free transfer.

The veteran attacker has announced he intends to leave this summer.

But Lotito told Adnkronos: "He probably wants to leave for free. But no, he has a contract four years, he's a registered player.

"Let him bring the team that wants him. He asked for a renewal last summer, he's the second highest paid player in Lazio, the contract is signed obliquely, he asks for more, he doesn't show up at the retirement, as you will all remember. And now he comes out with this thing, suddenly and without saying anything to the club.

"If he wants to leave he must find the team that will buy him. We are a company listed on the stock exchange, these are things that determine image and economic damage.

"Letting him go on a free transfer from a listed company means impoverishing the assets and I'm not crazy, the shareholders would kill me and they would be right."
