Massimo Moratti feels that Inter Milan’s season has been virtually perfect, and criticism of Steven Zhang has been “absurd.”

The legendary former Nerazzurri President spoke to Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, via FCInterNews, in an interview published in yesterday’s print edition.

This season, Inter have found the right balance in terms of their project under coach Simone Inzaghi.

The club’s work in the transfer market, and the growth that the squad has undergone in the last couple season, have seen the Nerazzurri dominate the Italian top flight.

There has been some disappointment in Europe.

Inter, who reached last season’s Champions League final, were dumped out of the competition at the round of sixteen stage by Atletico Madrid.

And the Nerazzurri also exited the Coppa Italia at that same stage.

However, overall, it has been a near-perfect Serie A campaign from Inter.

Moratti: Inter 10/10, Criticism Of Steven Zhang “Absurd”

Former Inter Moratti was asked to rate Inter’s season. He replied, “With the second star, it has to be 10/10.”

As far as the prospect of improving on improving on this season, Moratti said that “It’s hard for clubs to bring in new players who don’t disrupt the balance.”

He then said the Nerazzurri CEO Beppe Marotta “Is definitely a canny operator in the market.”

“He has full responsibility and faces the public, and he carries out his work very well,” Moratti said of Inter’s CEO.

Meanwhile, the former Nerazzurri President also gave his thought on the current President, Steven Zhang.”

“He’s gotten great results,” the former President said.

“He’s kept the team at a very high and prestigious level, including internationally.”

“It would be absurd for a fan to criticize him,” Moratti said of Zhang.

Finally, Moratti added “My hope is that everything can unfold in a way that’s ultimately good for Inter.”
