Legendary former Italy coach Marcello Lippi believes that AC Milan and Juventus will fight with Inter Milan for the Serie A title this season.

The former coach spoke to Italian broadcaster Adnkronos, via FCInterNews, giving his thoughts on the title race.

At the moment, it is AC Milan who sit at the top of the Serie A table.

The Rossoneri have only lost one match so far this season – a 5-1 defeat in the derby against Inter – and won the other seven.

Meanwhile, Inter sit two points behind their city rivals. That victory over Milan had been a highlight of the Nerazzurri’s blazing start to the campaign, but it slowed down a bit with dropped points in their two most recent matches at the San Siro.

Behind Inter and Milan are Juventus and Fiorentina.

The Bianconeri’s start to the season hasn’t been perfect, but it has been fairly solid and established them as title contenders.

Fiorentina, on the other hand, may still have a way to go before they can prove they are in it for the long haul.

Then, there is Napoli. Last season’s champions have endured a very rough start to the current campaign.

Still, for the Partenopei it is just seven points separating them from Milan in top spot.

Lippi: AC Milan & Juventus Will Fight Inter Milan For Serie A Title

Milan and Juventus meet this weekend.

It will be the marquee fixture of the round of fixtures just after the international break in Serie A.

The Rossoneri and the Bianconeri will each see the match as a massive one in terms of their respective title credentials.

Lippi predicted that “Milan Juventus will be a balanced match between two high-level teams.”

“They both have complete squads, and some excellent players who can make the difference.”

“I expect a match where any outcome is possible,” Lippi went on.

“The two of them will be fighting for the Scudetto with Inter until in the end of the season,” he added.
