Leicester City boss Enzo Maresca remains uncertain about the possible transfer of Inter Milan midfielder Stefano Sensi.

The 28-year-old has become surplus to requirements at Appiano Gentile with six other midfielders ahead of him in Simone Inzaghi’s pecking order.

He only managed to make four appearances as a substitute since the start of the season.

In recent weeks, the Foxes emerged as the favorites to sign the Italian in January. The English Championship leaders are looking to bolster the ranks while seeking an immediate promotion to the Premier League.

Several sources in the Italian media claim that the player is only details away from finalizing his transfer to the English club.

However, Leicester coach Maresca offers a less optimistic version of events.

The former Juventus and Sevilla midfielder explains that the Foxes must first sell before signing any new players.

“Do we feel the pressure? That’s not the point, it’s about what we can or can’t do. And at the moment, we can’t do anything,” admitted the Italian manager during his pre-match press conference via FcInterNews24.

“We have to sell to buy. In the end, it’s not difficult because we’re happy with the squad.

“But with some players away on national duty and others injured, we’re currently short of options. However, we don’t have to sell anyone.”

In recent days, some reports suggested that Cesare Casadei’s return to Chelsea would allow Leicester to save on the youngster’s wages and subsequently sign Sensi.

But on the contrary, Maresca claimed that more exits are required.
