Leicester City are dealing with Financial Fair Play problems, and this is not entirely surprising for Inter and their midfielder Stefano Sensi, who saw a January transfer collapse on the deadline day because of financial reasons.

PA news agency has reported that ‘Leicester are set to be charged by the Premier League over alleged breaches of its financial regulations.’

This is not entirely surprising for Inter, given that the Nerazzurri had been dealing with the English side in January.

Their midfielder Sensi was on the verge of joining Leicester City in the winter transfer window, but his move to the King Power Stadium collapsed on the deadline day.

Italian media reported at that time that Financial Fair Play regulations were one reason the Foxes did not complete the signing of the Italian midfielder.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport explained, Leicester City would not have respected FFP limitations with Sensi’s permanent transfer even if the Italian midfielder was set to move to England on a permanent free transfer with €2.5m bonuses to be paid in the summer if Enzo Maresca’s side had earned Premier League promotion.

Sensi even travelled to England, where he passed his medical examinations with the Foxes.

The Italian midfielder is still expected to leave Inter at the end of his contract in June.
