Netherlands midfielder Ryan Gravenberch joined Liverpool on transfer deadline day.

The 21-year-old signed a contract with the Reds until June 2028.

Liverpool will pay Bayern a transfer fee in the region of €40 million.

Bayern only signed Gravenberch from Ajax in June last year for an initial fee of €18.5m, meaning the German champions have more than doubled their money on the player in just under 15 months.

Gravenberch - who has taken the no.38 squad number at Anfield - is a versatile midfielder who can play in multiple positions but prefers to operate in the center of the pitch, rather than out wide.

"I'm very happy. Very happy that the deal is done and I'm finally here," Gravenberch told LiverpoolFC.com.

"If you see it from the outside, it's one of the biggest clubs in the world. Also the fans, the stadium, I think everything from the outside is top. So that's why [it was the right club for me]."

Gravenberch made 24 Bundesliga appearances for Bayern but only three of those were as a starter.

He had previously scored 12 goals in 103 matches for Ajax.

Gravenberch has been capped 11 times at senior international level.
