AC Milan are just a step away from acquiring Jovan Kirovski to take charge of the U23 project with signatures all that is missing for his arrival.

As has been reported by Daniel Longo for Calciomercato.com, the former Los Angeles Galaxy sporting director Kirovski should start working for the Rossoneri in July, with the contracts expected to be signed before then.

The move is seen as a big indication of Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s power at the club given the two had a very close working relationship at LA Galaxy and he seems to be Ibrahimovic’s appointment.

In terms of the role, Kirovski is going to be focused on the youth sector of Milan and will be a huge part of the U23 project which should see Milan enter a team into Serie C.

Juventus and Atalanta have U23 sides in Serie C and it looks increasingly likely that Milan will have one from the 2024/25 season. The coach is likely to be Daniele Bonera, but Primavera coach Ignazio Abate is also an option.

The move is further evidence of the wider project at Milan which could see even more talented youngsters come through and create revenue or options for the first team down the line.
