Real Madrid and Luka Modric will reach a decision on his future at the club next week.
Modric is expected to change his pattern of signing one year contract extensions as he looks for a new challenge away from Madrid in 2024.
The Croatian international is rumoured to be annoyed by his lack of playing time in recent months with conflicting reports over his ongoing relationship with Carlo Ancelotti.
However, despite the speculation, Modric and Ancelotti have maintained an excellent working relationship as Real Madrid clinched the La Liga title.
Modric has been utilised by Ancelotti in their run to the UEFA Champions League final but his decision looks to be already made.
With a formal update incoming over Modric’s expiring contract, his agent Vladika Lemic has spoken out, to confirm a call will be made before the final on June 1.
“So far there’s nothing clear about Modric’s future with Real Madrid. Next week things will be clearer for us”, as per quotes from Marca.
Modric has made over 500 appearances during his time in Madrid, after arriving in 2012, with four La Liga titles, and five Champions Leagues.
