Manchester City reached the FA Cup final by beating defending champion Chelsea 2-1 in a free-flowing game at Wembley on Sunday to maintain its only remaining hope for a trophy this season.
City dominated much of the first hour and went 2-0 up through goals by Samir Nasri and Sergio Aguero, before Demba Ba pulled Chelsea back into the game with an acrobatic finish in the 66th.
That led to a nervous finish for City, but Ba wasted his team's best chance to equalize when he fired straight at goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon from close range minutes later.
City will be a huge favorite in the final against Wigan, which beat Millwall 2-0 on Saturday, as manager Roberto Mancini looks to win the competition for the second time in three years. Chelsea beat Liverpool in last year's final but its only hope for a trophy is now in the Europa League, where it has reached the semifinals.

David Luiz has urged Sergio Aguero to apologize for the incident during yesterday's FA Cup semi-final that left him with stud marks on his back.
Aguero scored City's winner in their 2-1 Wembley triumph but his second-half challenge on Luiz left a sour taste as he jumped on the Chelsea defender's back.

Maybe it was the glaring difference in player sizes, or even just the fact that a smaller offensive player was trying to do something he is never really expected to do that well anyway (tackle successfully)… but dangerous play + intent needs to be met with swift consequences every time.
Aguero will likely escape a retrospective carding, due to a foul (and no card) already being...
Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard admits he and his team-mates were 'frightened' of Manchester City during their FA Cup semi-final defeat on Sunday.
The Blues fell 2-0 behind to the reigning Premier League champions at Wembley following Samir Nasri's first-half strike and a Sergio Aguero goal two minutes after the break.
Rafael Benitez's men threatened a comeback when...
The two FA Cup semifinals could hardly have been more different. On Saturday, Wigan Athletic saw off Millwall in a game notable far less for what happened on the pitch than for the violence off it ; on Sunday, Manchester City beat Chelsea 2-1 in a minor classic, a thrilling game played out in spring sunshine before a packed stadium of passionate but well-behaved fans.
