Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is said to have rejected Eintracht Frankfurt striker Randal Kolo Muani.

The Red Devils have been working all summer to secure a new centre forward for their Dutch coach.

The Athletic states that many United chiefs wanted to secure Kolo Muani of France, but Ten Hag had other ideas.

The Dutchman prefers the style and potential of Atalanta's Rasmus Hojlund, who has signed for the club.

The Denmark forward will be officially announced on Friday or Saturday, with a deal only needing his visa approval.

United are set to pay a total of 72 million, which includes add-ons, for the forward.
