Manchester United are reportedly keeping tabs on Lazio goalkeeper Ivan Provedel after Andre Onana’s unconvincing start at the club.

The 27-year-old Cameroonian shot stopper joined the Red Devils from Inter in the summer in a deal worth around €55 million total, arriving to be the long-term replacement for David de Gea.

Onana has struggled to look convincing since his arrival at Manchester United, making a number of high profile and costly mistakes, leaving many fans disappointed and concerned. He’s looked a far cry from the player who shined with Inter in the Champions League last term.

As reported by Il Messaggero (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Manchester United have now started to closely follow Provedel, considering making a move for the Lazio goalkeeper next summer.

The Biancocelesti wouldn’t accept anything less than around €30-35 million for the 29-year-old, who has been one of the best goalkeepers in the Italian topflight since his move to Rome last year.

Provedel is one of the lowest paid players in the Lazio squad, earning around €1 million net per season, and a new contract won’t be offered until the closing stages of the season, making him an interesting market opportunity.
