Manchester United players have doubts over Bruno Fernandes’ future
Yukihito Taguchi-USA TODAY Sports

Bruno Fernandes has been Manchester United’s best signing in recent years, but it looks like his time at Old Trafford may be coming to an end.

If you believe what is being reported, Fernandes is wanted by Bayern Munich and United will consider selling him, if the price is right.

Erik ten Hag stressed the Portugal international’s importance to the team when asked about his future.

“It’s the same question as last week. So I answered. The same answer,” Ten Hag told reporters.

“Now and in all the years he was [at United], he was a tremendously important player for Man United and creating the most chances across the Premier League. So many assists, so many goals. It’s clear he’s a very important player for us.”

Fernandes is United’s top scorer this season with 15 goals, but he is currently out injured after missing United’s previous two matches which both ended in defeat.

According to the Manchester Evening News, United players have doubts that Fernandes will remain at the club next season.

It is understood that the 29-year-old is receptive to leaving United after four-and-a-half years, with the Reds missing out on Champions League football next season.

Fernandes joined United from Sporting in January 2020 and has scored 79 goals in 230 appearances.

Inter Milan as well as Bayern Munich are said to be interested in signing Fernandes.

Samuel Luckhurst reports: “United would prefer to keep club captain Fernandes, who is under contract until 2026. The club also have the option of an additional year.

“However, a hefty offer for the attacking midfielder could tempt United to cash in on Fernandes, who is not among the quartet of players not for sale. Fernandes turns 30 in September but has high resale value due to his form and prominence at club and international level with Portugal.”

It would be a blow to lose a player like Fernandes.
