Asamoah Gyan has returned from injury
Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan has made a quicker-than-expected return from injury as he will play for Al Ain in the Asian Champions League on Tuesday, GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal.
The Black Stars captain will travel with his UAE club to Qatar where they will face Al Rayyan in Asian’s top-flight club competition.
Gyan was ruled out of action for three weeks after suffering the thigh problem when playing for Ghana in their World Cup qualifier two weeks ago.
But with one week before he scheduled return to action, doctors have now declared him fit for the match against the Qatari side.
And, ahead of Tuesday’s trip to Qatar, Al Ain midfielder Alex Brosque says Gyan’s return will boost Al Ain’s chances of winning the match in Doha.
“Having Asamoah back will give a lift us, especially when he gets back on the park,” Brosque said.
