It is safe to say that Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino did not deliver upon his high expectations when appointed by the Blues. The former Paris Saint-Germain manager took charge of the club in May 2023.
After almost a year in charge, Chelsea now find themselves in seventh position in the Premier League. Moreover, the club will also endure a trophyless season this campaign.
Despite having one of the most talented squads and packed rosters in the competition, unfortunate injuries, disappointing results and stop-start form have held the Blues back. While Chelsea have, in recent times, adopted to a ‘hire and fire’ approach when it comes to managers, Pochettino looks like he’ll be in charge next season.
If the owner is happy with my job, I can continue. I'm always a manager who thinks long-term. I still have one more year left on my contract and I'm thinking to be here. Mauricio Pochettino said in an interview
Pochettino on his future: “To clarify, if the owner is happy with my job, we can continue. I am always a coach who is thinking long term”.

The Blues take on Brighton in their next League game before hosting Bournemouth in their final match of the season.
Chelsea found themselves on the brink of yet another disappointing result as they took on Nottingham Forest on Saturday night. The Blues took an early lead through Mykhailo Mudryk , courtesy of a brilliant through ball by Cole Palmer. However, the Ukrainian’s goal was quickly canceled out by Willy Boly who was left unmarked at the far post.
Almost an hour passed before the next goal of the game, which came courtesy of former Chelsea man Callum Hudson-Odoi . His curled shot into the far post meant that Chelsea were staring down the barrel of defeat yet again. With ten minutes left to play, two goals in quick succession gave the traveling fans something to cheer about.

The equalizer came from Raheem Sterling, who’d only been on the pitch for seven minutes. Reece James , who made a return from injury quickly got to business as he found Nicolas Jackson, unmarked at the far post from a cross.
His inch-perfect pass did not go waste when the Senegalese forward headed it in for the winner. With the win, Chelsea are now level on points with Newcastle United, who are in a European spot.
