A strange week awaits for Stefano Pioli, because while it should be his last few days at Milanello there has still been no official communication regarding his future.

According to Calciomercato.com, on either Tuesday or Wednesday the head coach will have talks with the Milan management during which the closure of the relationship will be outlined, with Salernitana almost certain to be his farewell.

Then it will be time to start negotiating for severance pay, because Pioli does not seem willing to grant discounts with regards to the last year of salary foreseen in his contract not is a mutual termination on the cards.

In addition to that, Pioli will have to start thinking about the future too. Napoli is in Pioli’s mind at present for a whole series of reasons: the challenge of relaunching the club as already done with Milan, the players who are well suited to his idea of football and the possibility of remaining at a competitive club.

However, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is working on multiple options and after having received Pioli’s approval on contractual conditions (two-year contract with option for the third year) he also wants to continue discussions with others.

Antonio Conte and Gian Piero Gasperini are on the list too for the Azzurri, while the report also mentions that other clubs could come forward for Pioli, like Fiorentina should Vincenzo Italiano leave.
