Milan Officially Announce to Have Signed Chukwueze

After Milan and Villarreal came to terms earlier in the week, Samuel Chukwueze touched down in Italy Wednesday to take the medicals and signed his new five-year contract Thursday. He won’t join his teammates in the United States because of the bureaucracy tied to his arrival, Sky informs.

The winger is the eighth purchase of the summer for the Rossoneri. He’s the third attacker to join after Noah Okafor, Christian Pulisic, and young winger Luka Romero. He has accumulated 207 appearances with Villarreal, scoring 37 times.

Milan will pay a €20M fee plus €8M add-ons for Chukwueze. He’ll be the sixth Nigerian in their history after Aliyy Datti, Taribo West, Kingsley Umunegbu, Nnamdi Oduamadi, and Taye Taiwo. He’ll miss a month or so during the Winter due to the 2024 African Cup of Nations.

The previous deal of the 24-year-old would have expired at the end of next season, which helped the Rossoneri in the talks. He will reportedly earn €4M annually till 2028.
