MLS teams are scrambling to bring in reinforcements with the summer transfer deadline just a couple of days away. The rumors continue to get better as teams hustle to sign big name players. Here are the hottest transfer rumors being thrown around at the moment. Ronaldinho to New York Red Bulls? While it looks like Robinho won’t be joining Orlando City, Ronaldinho’s next destination is still unknown. Since the maestro decided to leave Atlético Mineiro, there have been rumors linking him with a move to MLS. Jermaine Jones in action for the US The notorious party animal is 34 years old, but still possesses the bemusing tricks that made him one of the most entertaining footballers in the world. Goal.com’s Ives Galarcep encourages the Red Bulls to sign the Brazilian because he would be the perfect replacement for Thierry Henry, who might be hanging up his boots at the end of the season. [Thierry Henry's unfinished business] Is Jermaine Jones going to Chicago? Jones has been enjoying life in the US ever since he returned from Brazil. The 32-year-old has been partying with the likes of Paris Hilton, Mike Tyson and hip hop artist Chris Brown. And now it looks all the partying could come to an end when he returns to the field to play for Chicago Fire. Chicago’s head coach Frank Yallop has confirmed that he is interested in the hard-tackling midfielder. According to MLSsoccer.com, Yallop said, “We have interest in the player for sure.” He continued, “We’ve spoken to the agent, but at this point there’s nothing to add until someone agrees and it gets concluded. The truth of the matter is we have interest in the player but nothing has been finalized yet. That’s all I can say on it for now.” Yallop is already creating space for Jones. The coach has used defensive midfielder Jeff Larentowicz as a center back in the last two games — a friendly against Tottenham Hotspur and a league match against Vancouver Whitecaps. Another Argentine playmaker joins MLS. Scoring goals has been a problem for San Jose Earthquakes this season, and it looks like they might have found the player that could change that. On Thursday, the Earthquakes announced the signing of Matias Perez Garcia from Club Atletico Tigre. “We’re very excited to sign Matias,” head coach Mark Watson said in a statement. “He adds a very experienced, technical attacking quality that will be a great complement to the squad we already have. We look forward to having him join the team.” The 29-year-old was signed as a Designated Player, the third in club history. He will practice with his new team on Friday. Is Sacha Kljestan coming back to MLS? Due to his lack of playing time in Belgium, Kljestan could be returning to the city where he started his career. But this time, he wouldn’t be playing for Chivas USA. The midfielder has been linked with a six-month loan move to LA Galaxy. On Tuesday, the Galaxy moved up to the third spot in the allocation order by trading Kofi Opare to DC United. There’s no doubt that Kljestan would be a great addition for a team that needs a quality playmaker. A “big national team” player might be headed to Columbus. According to Columbus Crew head coach Gregg Berhalter, an international player is interested in joining his team. “I’m not going to say names, but I got a call yesterday about a guy who wanted to specifically come to Columbus,” Berhalter said, via MLSsoccer.com, “A big national team player. I thought that was interesting. All of a sudden, we’re getting calls that people are coming to us.” Since the name of the player was not disclosed, we can only assume that he might be a US national team member. Is it Jermaine Jones or Sacha Kljestan? Who knows, we just have to wait and see. Toronto FC’s promising attacker goes to Portugal on loan. Jordan Hamilton, 18, is one of the brightest young talents in Canada. The forward is a product of TFC’s academy and has represented his country at the under-17 level. He has spent majority of the 2014 season on loan with ULS PRO team, Wilmington Hammerheads. In just 11 apperances with the Hammerheads, Hamilton scored five goals and assisted two. He introduced himself to Toronto fans with a sublime finish against English Premier League side Tottenham in a 3-2 defeat.
