Monday evening confirmed an inevitable reality for AC Milan. This season, they have not been up to the standard which should be demanded of themselves and the standard demanded by the fans. A report has now claimed that there is one final chance to keep the season from being a completely lost cause.

The past few weeks have been difficult – the two losses to AS Roma re-established cracks in Milan’s team, and the loss to Inter has only further damaged the situation, where the future seems destined to be under different hands than Stefano Pioli’s.

His final season will be remembered for the negatives, of course. Still, he has another chance to savour something in his tenure, and that would be earning an entrance into the Supercoppa by finishing second place.

As Gazzetta dello Sport writes, several goals have not been achieved this season, and now one remains, which would unlock some much-needed revenue for the club, if they are to gain a place in the competition.

Finishing second would be an improvement on last season, and it automatically unlocks a further €4 million than finishing third place. With a vital game approaching against Juventus, who could qualify for the Supercoppa by beating Lazio tonight, Pioli has one final chance to leave the Rossoneri with a good memory of his tenure.
