AC Milan would like to keep Luka Jovic at the club next season and will be initiating contact with his agent in the coming weeks, a report claims.

As has been reported by Matteo Moretto, the Rossoneri have decided that Jovic has done enough to be offered a new contract after one season with the club.

Jovic was signed by Milan on the last day of the summer transfer window as something of an emergency purchase. He was available for free and Milan desperately needed one more striker to ensure they had depth behind Olivier Giroud.

He was given a one-year contract with the option for another year, but it was clear that he would need to impress if he was to have a long-term future with the club.

He has managed to score eight times across all competitions this season, although he is far more effective from the bench than as a starter.

With Giroud expected to leave the club in the summer, the Rossoneri will be signing at least one striker. If Jovic stays at the club, Milan may only need to sign one striker rather than replace both Giroud and the Serbian.

Jovic is said to be very keen on staying at Milan.
