Napoli join Fiorentina and Aston Villa in Ngonge race

After Fiorentina interest, now Napoli are also said to be in talks with Hellas Verona for Cyril Ngonge, who was linked with Aston Villa.

The right-sided attacking winger can also play as a support striker or a centre-forward and joined Verona from FC Groningen in January 2023.

He has impressed this season in Serie A with five goals and two assists in 18 games for Verona, earning interest from both clubs within Italy and abroad.

The 23-year-old has been valued at circa €12m and there were reports Aston Villa were edging closer to agreeing a fee with Verona, but also that the Belgian was eager to continue his career in Serie A.

Fiorentina were considered to be the favourites, but now Sky Sport Italia report that Napoli have also entered negotiations to sign Ngonge in the January transfer window.

This will fuel rumours that Napoli right-sided winger Matteo Politano is seriously considering lucrative proposals from Saudi Pro League team Al-Shabab FC.
