Shortly after Napoli made their stance on Khivcha Kvaratskhelia clear, Fabrizio Romano insisted renewal talks could kickstart soon. According to the famous transfer guru, Aurelio De Laurentiis hopes to open negotiations in the coming weeks to avoid losing another standout performer in the summer.

Piotr Zielinski is about to join fierce rivals Inter, while Victor Osimhen seems destined to sever ties with Napoli after four years and find a new place to live outside Serie A. The duo’s impending departures would leave Kvaratskhelia as the only high-profile name in the squad. And De Laurentiis is unwilling to discuss his exit.

On the contrary, he hopes to reward the Georgia international with a bumper new contract amid growing Paris Saint-Germain links. Despite his household status in Naples, Kvaratskhelia remains among the club’s lowest earners. Therefore, Napoli must improve his terms to persuade him to stay at the Maradona Stadium.

After a dream maiden season in Serie A, the 23-year-old has stuttered in 2023/24. However, he has still amassed ten goals and eight assists in 31 league appearances, with only Osimhen (15) scoring more than him. Kvaratskhelia is a fan favorite at Napoli, and De Laurentiis can ill-afford to lose him this summer.

Time is of the essence for Napoli

Napoli must accelerate talks to tie him down to a new deal. With PSG on the verge of losing Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid, chances are they’ll put forward a blockbuster bid for Kvaratskhelia this summer. Unless he gets better terms soon, the highly-rated winger could consider a switch to Ligue 1.
