Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe admits he may be without Harvey Barnes for some time.

The summer signing from Leicester City had been easing his way into the Magpies team this term.

Often used as a sub, he started his second Premier League game in a comfortable win over Sheffield United.

Despite the positive result, Barnes coming off after making four touches with a toe injury is a huge blow.

Post-game, Howe said: "It doesn't look too good. I think he has a toe problem. He pushed off and felt something in his toe.

Early signs are there's probably an injury there, but we don't know what it is at the moment."
