Newcastle midfielder Sean Longstaff admits he doesn't know how to take their 4-4 draw with Luton.

Newcastle fought back from 4-2 down to draw 4-4.

Longstaff said: "We should probably win the game. If you go 4-2 down and someone offers you a point you will take it. It has probably been the story of our season. A little bit up and down and a little bit inconsistent but another point on the board and we go again.

"We have a good group - good spirit and good character. People will always want the ball and never hide. You see what can happen when the fans are with you and supporting you. It is good that we can come back from 4-2 down and I am really happy for Harvey [Barnes]. He has had some setbacks and for him to come on and score that goal was massive.

"We are a front-foot team and if you are a couple of yards off, it carries through the team. We knew they were going to be strong in set-pieces and duels and tackles in the middle of the pitch. We have to be stronger in the challenge. When you score four goas at home you should win the game. It's disappointing but it was a positive to come back from 4-2 down."

On the overall feeling after the match, he added: "To be honest, I don't know what the feeling is. I feel as though, with no disrespect to Luton, we should win at home. And going twice ahead, we should win it. It could be an important point come the end of the season."
